E-BikeKit Product Update: E-BikeKit is NOW SAFE for Use With Non-Steel Forks!
NEW Stainless Steel "C-Washers" are now standard on every E-Bikekit Front Wheel!
Using the "C-Washers", the "Inside Safety Washers" as well as a Torque Arm, it is NOW Possible to safely install the E-BikeKit 500w direct drive front wheels on quick release and alloy forks.
Please Note: This applies for use with controllers of 25amps or less only.
Steel forks are required above 25amps.
Newly Designed Rear Direct Drive Motor Now with Standard 6 Bolt Disc Brake! (Available Now!)
The latest rear motor design from E-BikeKit is 100% ISO standard disk brake compatible. The new design completely eliminates the need for an "offset lacing pattern" to center the wheel. Now with a standard lacing pattern the rear wheels are perfectly centered. This new design combined with the fact that all E-BikeKit wheels are professional built in the USA by hand makes a strong case for the E-BikeKit rear wheel being the best available rear hub motor wheel available.
Water-Resistant Treatment for all LiFePO4 Packs! (started 3/1/2010)
E-BikeKit started treating all of it's LiFePO4 battery packs in March 2010 to be "water-resistant". Now there is absolutely zero concern over using the battery packs uncovered in the rain. Every pack is enhanced with proprietary rubber gaskets between both end caps and is treated internally to prevent any moisture from entering the pack. All 10ah Prismatic LiFePO4 packs come with an unprecedented 18 Month Warranty and all 9ah Cylindrical LiFePO4 packs come with a 1 Year Warranty.
All E-BikeKit Electric Bike Wheels are NOW Hand-Built in the USA! (started 3/15/2010)
E-BikeKit is proud to announce that all of our e-bike hub motor wheels are now being built by hand in our Lambertville New Jersey facility.
Assembling conversion kits and building wheels by hand in a solar-powered re-purposed historic spoke factory sets E-BikeKit apart from any of its competitors.
"We source kit parts from overseas, from Canada and from USA manufacturers, but final assembly, inspection, testing and quality control is done right here in the USA. As far as I know, no other conversion kit can boast hand-built wheels built in the USA".
2 NEW E-Bike Controller Options! (April 2010)
Two new controllers will be introduced in April 2010:
The first will have an additional wire that will connect to an optional 3-speed switch. the switch will allow riders the choice of low(10MPH), medium(14MPH) and high(20MPH) speeds. The rider can change to any speed setting "on the fly" using this switch.
The second new controller option will have the 3-speed option as well as pedal-assist functionality with the addition of a pedal-assist sensor which will connect to the crank shaft and run to the controller. The pedal assist will will provide a 1:1 ratio of pedal power to pedal-assisted power from the battery.
Speed Loop Switches! (Available now)
These switches are button type switches used to connect to the black and white speed suppressor loop wire on the E-BikeKit controller. They effectively limit the top speed by inhibiting the throttle power. The switch allows the rider to change from low speed(14MPH) to high speed(20MPH) with one click. Easily mounts to handle bars. Great for conserving battery power to increase range.
High Speed 12x5 wind specialty motors!
(Limited Availability April 2010)
These 12x5 motors have a much higher top speed and lower torque than the standard E-BikeKit motor. Top speed at 36 volts is around 24MPH. They are most commonly used in higher voltage situations (electric mopeds/motorcycles) to increase top cruising speed.
